This week-
Tropical Storm Alex moves into The Gulf of Mexico bringing with it winds and rains slowing the oil spill clean up effort. The storm is said to become a hurricane later this week. Luckily it is headed far west of the site of the oil spill but this is hurricane season so there are plenty more to come. Unfortunately forecasters say that this season is predicted to be an extra busy one.
This oil spill tragedy cannot be measured as of yet because nothing like this have ever happened in the Gulf so there is no way to ever predict the its true magnitude and effect for years to come. All we are hearing about is the oil itself, no one is talking about the toxic gasses that are being released into the atmosphere also. These findings are probably not being reported to the public to avoid hysteria, which is not fair. The folks of that region should at least be warned so they can decide whether to leave or stay. I digress......This story supposed to be about the storm...my bad. It's headed toward the U.S. Mexican border. Pray my friends! If you don't pray meditate or cross you fingers or something..ha. Hurricanes are no joke people!
General McChystal has been fired or encouraged to resign, whatever way you wanna look at it......;him gone. A freelance writer working with 'Rolling Stone Magazine' by the name of Michael Hastings reportedly took advantage of McChystal and his aids by befriending them then publishing unbecoming remarks about key government officials made by them in their downtime; allegedly. The President was forced to replace McChystal with Gen. Petraeus, the mastermind that turned the Iraq War around, as commander of the American U.N. forces in Afghanistan. I think Petraeus will do well and I still believe General McChystal is a 'Patriot' to the highest degree....he just wasn't careful enough. I wish him the best. And I'm sure soon he will write a book with all of the juicy details:)
It has been a year since Michael Jackson died. It seems like it just happened with all of the publicity still surrounding his death. I'm really not big on the whole gossip celebrity talk stuff so if you want to do an investigation of your own there are plenty blogs out there for you to get your fix off of....God Speed my friend.

This week:
-Oil continues to spill in the Gulf of Mexico....It's been over 50 days and Obama is still searching for the right 'ass to kick'. I don't know or do I care to understand the details of the protocol for a disaster of this magnitude but from the outside looking in it looks like everybody from the pelicans to the politicians don't have a clue what to do. What a nightmare!
-Man win 1.5 million from collection agency....This has to be one of my favorite stories ever! Those collectors use some nasty tactics to collect their money and it's just nice to see that the law of 'Karma' is in full working order. Take That! Take That! (in my P.Diddy voice) lol
-Gary Coleman dies....There is a lot more to this story than it seems. I don't trust his estranged wife. Something just ain't right. Ya'll just wait and see. Either she had something to do with his death of she is just really really dumb. Stay tuned on that one....

The Adib and Jameelah Show 26
-This week
The Coast Guard, Homeland Security, BP(British Petroleum) along with a host of hodgepodge organizations are anxiously working to figure out quickest and most efficient and safest way to cap off the well in the Gulf of Mexico that has been spewing out millions of barrels of oil for several days now. My biggest concern is with the effect it will have on the wildlife. The ecosystem in the Gulf is very sensitive, especially along the Louisiana coastline where must of the renegade oil will find itself to....And if you are wondering how this tragedy will effect the debate on whether or not drilling should be done off the coast of CA, wonder no more. There are already activists coming out saying "See, the same thing will happen here, if we let them drill!" The truth is disasters of this magnitude rarely happens and with the recent spill comes a new slew regulations and the hastened development of preventive technology.....Just you wait and see, while some folks will lose much of their fortune others will double their own. (it's just the way of things). As far as my opinion goes on whether there should be drilling off the coast of CA or not: I'm somewhere in the middle. I believe that more federal resources should be used on researching and developing cleaner energy but in the meantime why not become more viable in the petroleum market. Let me know what you think on this one folks....
-Next Story
There is massive flooding in several Tennessee counties that has already taken several lives and destroyed millions of dollars worth of property. Lets just pray the water recedes soon...In the meantime contact the Red Cross and make a donation.
-Story #3
Some jackass tried to set off a car bomb in Time Square New York and had an 'Epic Fail' What a jackass! People have enough things on their mind. Now we have to be concerned that a low-life,no-life having, pathetic soul is trying to blow us up while we are taking a short break from our job that we may not like that much!?! Have a heart man and go shoot yourself in the the nose in the backwoods of upstate New York and spare us your ridiculous asinine response to life's woes that we all have to endure from time to time! I repeat: JACK ASS!
-Lastly
KFC is catching flack for its Susan G. Colman campaign. I understand why because how are you going to raise money to cure a deadly disease by selling a product that can cause other diseases if it is eaten too much. I don't have a problem with the campaign. KFC is not deadly. Moderation is the key...Case closed.

The Adib and Jameelah Show 25
-First up this week
There is a new immigration law in Arizona that has angered, frightened, and provoked some individuals to turn to violence during protest rallies over the weekend. Personally I can clearly see both sides of the story...Bottom line, there needs to be something done about illegal immigration. This is a nation and there are rules and they need to be followed or changed. It's not fair to enforce one law without enforcing another. I'm tired of politicians playing politics in order to keep their jobs. This is one of the reasons why it's difficult for me to respect elected officials now. It seems that most them are in the business of keeping citizens at odds, fighting amongst themselves and playing one group against the other in order to secure more votes instead of using that same energy to help bring people together. I tell you this though...I respect Gov. Jan Brewer because she knows that the new law is not popular within the Latino population, whose votes are essential when it comes to winning elections locally and nationally yet she is putting it all on the line to stand up for her principles and I gotta respect that. Now it's the federal government's turn...Please Secure Our Borders! (....then we can talk)
-Then
There is the mater of Lane Bryant Vs FOX Network and ABC. If you have seen The A and J Show you have seen the commercial. It starts off showing a voluptuous woman wearing only a bra and panties prancing around alone in her home admiring herself in the mirror while she is getting dressed to go out on a lunch date. The networks said that they banned it because it was not appropriate for the family TV time block but these same networks run Victoria's Secrets ads with no problem at those same time slots. So obviously those networks think that curvier woman wearing next to nothing is to hot for TV but more petite women dressed similar are acceptable for the viewing of all ages. This offends many women because most are more on the curvy side than not. The truth is Lane Bryant couldn't care less that FOX Network and ABC wouldn't run the add at their requested time because there has been so much controversy over this story and it has been seen and talked about all over the news for the past week so when it comes to publicity they(Lane Bryant advertisers) win; hands down. I say give the big girls a break and put them on prime-time...
-Lastly
What a fool of a young man...You hang out at the airport near the runways in a car that resembles an unmarked police unit equipped with a HAM radio, police scanners and a rifle including a scope. Your last name is McVey, the President just flew into town and on top of all that, you are just a really weird looking guy AND now you are sitting in central lock-up after you just got arrested and stupidly you are trying to figure out "Why? What happened? What did I do?" Guilty or innocent you are a complete Dumb-Ass! Sorry about the strong language. If you want to see the entire story check out the show below:

The Adib and Jameelah Show 24
This week-
There is an erupting volcano in Iceland(that's almost an oxymoron) and it's causing major headaches for would be airline passengers. Flights in and out of the major airports have been halted due to the risk of the ash spewed from the mountain of newly molten rock into the atmosphere causing damage to the plane engines. Weary travelers are literally stranded all over the world. Some we're lucky to be near enough to catch trains in and out while others have retreated to hotels and the homes of friends and family. Test flights are being flown in order to see if it safe to resume some flight schedules. There has been no word yet on when things will get back to normal. I guess ultimately it's up to mother nature.
News story two-
NASA is facing budget cuts and I'm not happy about it. I understand that the country is facing some hard economic times and NASA's missions aren't considered a necessity. You know what?..SCREW THE GOVERNMENT's so called fiscal planning. Now is the time for private investors to step up and push the space program to the next level. Lets show them how to make progress AND profits at the SAME TIME. For the last 20 yrs they seem to have forgotten how to. But anyway...we are saying so long to the space shuttle program and hopefully ushering in a new one called Constellation which is ultimately focused constructing space stations near the moon and Mars. I will keep my fingers crossed.
Third story-
Lt. Col. Terry Lankin refuses to take orders because he believes President Obama was not born a US citizen and is not eligible to be the Commander and Chief. I feel guilty wasting my time to talk about this fool but I will endure that pain once more for that sake of writing a good blog for the show. The Lt. Col. is part of a small wacked out group called 'Birthers'. Obviously this group is in denial about their president's edibility to serve due to unconfirmable (conspiracy) theories....(I guess that's why they are called theories). I know that we are blessed to have freedom of speech in this country so the Lt. Col. has the right to make a fool of himself verbally seven days a week but if you don't like the current administration there are plenty of legitimate grievances to base your descent on. When you guys bring up the birth certificate crap people instantly begin to believe you are slightly off your rocker....Let-it-go....Trust me.
Last and least story-
Kate Gosselin of 'Jon and Kate Plus Eight' has a teary breakdown......boo hoo!

The Adib and Jameelah Show 23
-This week
(Like a jagged kidney stone)Healthcare has passed! I wish it was that simple....That raggedy bill was a far cry from what anybody on capitol hill, left or right really wanted but they passed it anyway. This is not a pro bill, nor is it an anti-reform rant. This is a rant about the attitudes of those people in Washington, who supposed to be working for the best interests of the American people, that squandered their elected power on that crap of a bill. I'm not just blaming the DEMS and their inept ability to lead. REPS should be held accountable also for their lack of cohesiveness and emotional fervour when it comes to reaching across the aisle. Can I be a brat for two seconds??? All Politicians Suck! Is this the best that you guys can come up with!?! What a waste of power and influence....
-In other news...
Employers are now using social networking sites to vet would be employees. This shouldn't even be a story, because you would think that it would be common sense not to broadcast behavior that some would consider raunchy all over the internet, but obviously I'm naive. Come on people we are living in the age of the internet. Everything we get involved in whether it is work or leisure seems to find its way onto the information highway. Maybe about ten years ago you could have kept your virtual and real life separate but those days are fading fast my friend......Sorry. I suggest you take total control of your internet persona. Do a search of yourself and edit the finding. This may be tedious but taking this action may earn you that job you are seeking.
-last butt not least...
R&B singer Erykah Badu goes totally nude on Dallas downtown the street while shooting a music video for her new single 'Window seat'. All I got to say is that she really know how to make a statement!
